Redfern House
In the 1920s 27 Old Bond Street was known as Redfern House. This was the London branch of Maison Redfern - a highly prestigious fashion house originally opened by the British couturier John Redfern in 1881 at 242 rue de Rivoli, Paris.
Maison Redfern was peppered with 'by special appointments' and, in 1888, John Redfern was made official dressmaker to Queen Victoria. Other Redfern clients included The Empress of Russia and 'all the courts of Europe'. | |
