Stanley William Hayter Maze - 1984 (scroll down for information)
| Engraving, soft-ground etching and scorper 52 x 35.2 cm Printed in colours on wove paper. Signed and numbered from the edition of 50 impressions.
Lit: Black and Moorhead 444
The colours were printed simultaneously by a method pioneered and developed by Hayter in Atelier 17. By varying the viscosity of the inks and applying the colours with rollers of varying densities the artist was able to print many colours at once. Colour intensity was maintained without the need for multi-plate printing. lg2450
